Reaching Hearts Beyond Borders: AIM Foundation at Kumirmari Island
On June 5th, 2021, AIM Foundation, in collaboration with the West Bengal Orthopaedic Association, extended a lifeline to the remote inhabitants of Kumirmari Island—located nearly 110 km from Kolkata and accessible only after a 3-hour boat journey.
In a heartfelt outreach, essential supplies like rice, dal, cooking oil, beaten rice, turmeric, salt, sugar, soap, and 600 packets of sanitary napkins were distributed among 300 families, addressing both nutritional and hygiene needs.
True to the spirit of healing, a medical camp was also organized with free consultations and medicines. A team of eight dedicated doctors from NRS Medical College, led by Dr. Kiran Kumar Mukhopadhyay and Dr. Utpal Bandhopadhyay, offered healthcare services where they were needed the most.
Not all battles are fought with guns—some are won with stethoscopes and compassion.
